Earning repeat business is the mark of success for most businesses.
But Marsha L. Wilson allegedly proved to be the kind of return customer a local gas station didn’t want.
After managing to escape arrest for several months Wilson, 44, of 602A East 8th Street, was arrested on Jan. 10 for driving off without paying for gas at the Murphy Express gas station on seven different occasions.
According to LaFollette Police Officer John Baker’s report, he investigated a complaint of a drive off at Murphy Express on June 15. On that occasion Chief James Lynch was flagged down by an employee of the business and told that Wilson had been stealing gas from the station.
Records indicate that Wilson allegedly fled when she spotted Lynch. Store employees produced receipts an security camera footage which implicated Wilson in seven separate incidents, beginning on April 1, in which she allegedly stole approximately $100 in fuel.
Wilson was arrested on Sunday and charged with theft of property.
