Witnesses spotted a man attempting to break into a neighbor’s vehicle late last Wednesday night.
When Officer Dennis Chadwell arrived the complainants reported the male, who was wearing white tennis shoes, white t-shirt and brown shorts, fled into the woods located just behind the victim’s residence.
Chadwell along with Officers Josh Vann and Ronald Halcomb began searching the woods and the surrounding area.
While patrolling Cherry Street Halcomb, located a male, later identified as Eric Allen Wilson, 29, of 444 Wilson Lane, Lake City, matching the description given by witnesses, records indicate.
According to Chadwell’s report, when Wilson spotted Halcomb, he went on the run again before being located on the roof of a Cherry Street residence.
Wilson was taken to the Campbell County Jail for booking. While there Wilson was also served with outstanding warrants from Campbell and Anderson Counties.
Wilson was charged with criminal trespassing and evading arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 19.
