Sensei Peter Wooden was promoted to 5th degree black belt in Kung Fu San Soo on Thursday evening, Feb. 17. Master Gerry Myers conducted the award ceremony with Sensei Larry Bostic, chief instructor of the Academy for Martial Arts in the LaFollette Fitness Center, attending. Sensei Bostic also teaches at Clinton and manages the LaFollette Fitness Center. Wooden is also ranked as a 3rd degree black belt in Jujitsu and 4th degree black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu. Kung Fu is documented back to 1,500 B.C. with the San Soo portion added some 500-600 years ago.
