Youth Hunter Education Challenge set

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Crossville City Police Department will be sponsoring the NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge on June 25 at Meadow Park Lake in Crossville.

This event starts at 8 a.m. and is an advanced hunter education program designed to build and further develop skills taught in basic hunter education courses. Parent or guardian permission is required. 

No prior experience is needed, but participants must be able to safely handle and shoulder firearms.

Participants must be between 10-17 years old and will face four shooting or “responsibility” tests. The top competitor will qualify for the National YHEC event to be held in New Mexico. Youth must pre-register by calling S.R.O. Capt. John Bilbrey at 931-484-7231.
