    Glenn Pruitt, 67, of LaFollette passed away June 27 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.  Member of High Street Baptist Church. 

    Preceded in death by parents, Estell and Ida Gibson Pruitt; brothers, Ray, Enas, John, Clyde and Arthur Pruitt.

    Kim Woods

    Kim Woods, 45 of LaFollette, passed away June 24. He was a member of Fundamental Missionary Baptist Church.

    Preceded in death by brother, Rick Woods.

    Kim is survived by wife, Laurie Woods; daughter, Sarah Woods; son, Dustin Terry; parents, Maynard, Jr. and Bertha Woods; brother, Mickey Woods; sister, Brenda Chambers; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

    Ulyess “Bo” Brown

    Ulyess “Bo” Brown, 83, of  Jacksboro passed away June 21 at St. Mary’s Campbell County.  Member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.  Retired as Chief Warrant officer in the US Army after 26 years and retired from Garland Coal as Pilot.

    Preceded in death by wife, Lois Aurelia Byrd Brown; daughter, Cynthia Kay Huckaby; parents, George W. and Cleo Smith Brown; sister, Georgia Mae Longmire.

    Randy Gene Maiden, died June 24. 

    Randy is survived by daughters, Kari Cole and Kaylie Hall.

    Funeral services will be held July 1 at 1:30 p.m. in the East Tennessee Veterans’ Cemetery with Rev. Jon Tyner officiating.

    Portia Ann White, 65, of LaFollette passed away June 22 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.  She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. 

    Preceded in death by father, Rev. Leonard Dabney; brother, Larry Dabney; grandparents, Rev. Ernest and Maggie Goins and Robert and Ruth Dabney.

  • James Keith "Big Head" Phillips

    James Keith "Big Head" Phillips

    James Keith "Big Head" Phillips, 37 of Jacksboro, passed away June 23 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. Keith was born on September 13, 1973 in LaFollette. He enjoyed working on his 1970 Chevy Nova known as "Peaches". Keith also loved water sports and spending time on the lake. He was well known for aggravating and teasing his younger cousins. Keith will be dearly missed. 
    Preceded in death by grandparents, Otis and Mildred Phillips.

    James Edward Housley Sr., 82 of Briceville died June 26.

    Preceded in death by parents, William and Flora McGhee Housley; wife, Lucille McMahan Housley.

    James is survived by sons, James E. Housley Jr. of Briceville, Benny L. Housley of Lake City, Terry W. Housley of Knoxville, Jeff Housley of Briceville; daughters, Phyllis Housley of Murfreesboro, Sharon Owens of Clinton, Patty Sweeney of Lake City.

    Ronnie Jason Reese

    Ronnie Jason Reese, 30 of LaFollette died June 25.

    Preceded in death by grandfather, Herman Boone Reese; great-grand parents, Harley and Ester Reese.

    Ronnie is survived by daughter, Eden Reese; parents, Diane and Danny Walden; grandmothers, Marie Reese and Ava Walden; grandfather, Roland Walden all of LaFollette. 

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on June 28 at the Jellico Highway Church of God with Rev. Ray Graham and Rev. Rick Stewart officiating.

    Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Jeff Robinson, 50 of LaFollette died June 21.

    Preceeded in death by father, Herman Robinson.

    Jeff is survived by mother, Margaret Robinson; daughter, Tasha Robinson.

    Retired SSgt. James L. Beam Sr.

    Retired SSgt. James L. Beam Sr., 69, died June 21.

    Preceded in death by parents, Ray C and Hattie Roe Virginia Julian Beam.

    James is survived by mother of his children, Maxie Sharp of Lake City; daughter, Michele Disney of Lake City; son,

    James L. (Jim) Beam Jr. of Lake City.

    Funeral services were held June 23 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Sharp and Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment was in the Indian Bluff Cemetery.
