    Monie is survived by husband,  Jack Bean of Lake City; son, Rev. Jackie Ray Bean and of Heiskell; daughter, Tina Michelle Sellers of Lake City; son, Jeffery Dewayne Bean of Knoxville; son, Homer Douglas Bean of Lake City; mother, Monnie Bell Daugherty

    Mary V. Ward

    Mary V. Ward,65 died June 23.

    Preceded in death by parents, Jessie and Everee Burress McKamey.

    Mary is survived by sons, Wayne Ward of Knoxville, Robert Ward of Caryville, Greg Ward of Caryville.

    Funeral services were held June 26 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kevin Ward officiating. Interment was in the Beech Fork Cemetery.

    Derrick (Red) Williamson, 38 of LaFollette died June 19. 

    Preceded in death by parents, Walter Williamson and Melda McCullah Williamson.

    Derrick is survived by daughter, Adrienne Williamson.

    Funeral services were held June 23 in the Walters Funeral Home Chapel with family members officiating. Interment was in the Bakers Forge Cemetery.

    Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Leah Joyce Friend, 60 of Jacksboro died June 21.

    Preceded in death by parents, Palmer Barker and Ruby Playforth Barker.

    Leah is survived by husband, Don Friend of Jacksboro; sons, Craig Friend of Murfreesboro, David Friend of Chattanooga.

  • Rev. Thomas H. Lynch

    Rev. Thomas H. Lynch

    Rev. Thomas H. Lynch passed away June 20.  Thomas Hoover Lynch answered a call to ministry at age 30 and served United Methodist churches in East Tennessee for 33 years, including his most recent pastorate at Trinity United Methodist in Greeneville between 1986 and 1991. He remained Pastor Emeritus until his death.

    Robert W. Willis

    In loving memory of our dad and grandpa Robert W. Willis who passed away on June 3 whose suffering and pain from cancer finally came to an end. He served four years in the army in Vietnam, and then proceeded to serve another 20 years in the air force. He was a well respected man who would help anybody out, he was also the most loving and caring dad, grandpa, and friend that you could ever find. Even in his worst pain he was trying and asking if anyone needed anything.

    Shirley is survived by sons, Scott Daugherty and Jeff Marma.

    Funeral services were held June 22 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hawkins and Rev. Terry Slover officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on June 23 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

    Thomas (Varmint) Clevenshire

    Thomas (Varmint) Clevenshire, 63 of Jellico, passed away June 18 at Jellico Community Hospital.  He was born May 12, 1948 in Jacksonville, Fla.

    Thomas is survived by sons, Thomas Clevenshire II of Jellico, Nick Clevenshire of Jacksboro and Eustace Buddy Clevenshire of Ohio; daughter, Angel Greene of Newcomb; grandchildren, Sally, Justin, Thomas III., Natalie, Joseph, Megan, Emma and Elly; a host of friends and family to mourn his passing.

    George Lee “Little Freck” Elliott, died June 18.

    Preceded in death by parents, Jesse Wade and Ethel Newport Elliott.

    George is survived by daughter, Jennie Lee Raines of Greenwood, In.

    A celebration of life service was held June 21 at the Clear Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Lynn Mowery officiating.

    Preceded in death by father, Adrian Spitzter; mother, Georgie Landrum Spitzter; husband, Richard Halcomb.

    April is survived by sons, Richard Roy Halcomb of LaFollette, Christopher Earl Halcomb of Jacksboro and Luke Anthony Halcomb of LaFollette.

    Funeral services were held June 13 in the chapel of Harp Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Anthony Franklin and Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating. Interment was in the Davis Cemetery.
