    Omar (Mutt) Russell

    Omar (Mutt) Russell, 75, of Caryville passed away June 12 at U.T. Medical Center.  Member of Central Baptist Church in Caryville and US Army veteran. He loved the mountains and being outdoors.

    Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Bertha Russell; brothers, Wilford, Sam, Albert and infant James Russell; sister, Golda Russell.

    Mary Deloris Elkins

    Mary Deloris Elkins, 77 of Caryville, passed away June 10. She was born on August 9, 1933. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and sewing. She was a faithful member of Vasper Baptist Church and enjoyed many church activities. She loved her family and was loved by her family and friends and all who met her.

    Preceded in death by father Leon Cooper; mother, Clara Johnson Cooper; husband, Kenneth Elkins; brothers, James and Henry Cooper, and sisters, Laura Cooper and Dorothy Cooper Dishman.

    Khloe Nevaeh Hubbard

    Khloe Nevaeh Hubbard,three months old died June 9.

    Khloe is survived by parents, Eric and Kim Hubbard of Lake City; brothers, Ethan Michael Hubbard and Nicholas Hubbard; grandparents, Mike Hubbard of Clinton, Vanessa Hubbard of Lake City, Robin Vandergriff of Claxton and Dale Swicegood of Lake City;

    Graveside services were held June 12 in the Beech Grove Cemetery.

    Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Victor Baird, 92 of LaFollette passed away June 6, 2011 at St. Mary’s Campbell County.  Former businessman and owner of LaFollette Sheet Metal, farmer and World War II veteran.  Member of Church of God Holiness. 

    Preceded in death by wife, Bernice Meredith Baird; son, Lee Scott; daughter, Darla Bell; brothers, Lee. Rev. Elbert Baird, Rev. Ben Baird; sisters, Etta Carroll, Lillian Malicoat.

    Lawrence Hill

    Lawrence Hill, 69 of LaFollette, died June 8.

    Preceded in death by father, Roy Roc Hill; mother Mary Pennington; infant daughter Tammy Hill.

    Lawrence is survived by sons, Ricky Hill of LaFollette and Lawrence Tracy Hill of Caryville.

    Funeral services were held June 10 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Griffith and Rev. James Leach officiating. Interment was in the Powell Valley Cemetery.

    Martin-Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette was in charge of the arrangements.

    Aileen G Hill, 80 of Jacksboro died June 8.

    Preceded in death by father, Silas Milton “Mitt” Grant; mother, Josephine “Josie” Sharp Grant; husband, Dewey W. Hill.

    Aileen is survived by son, Billy R. Hill of Jacksboro.

    Funeral services were held June 9 in the Martin Wilson chapel with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment was in the Cumberland View Cemetery.

    Charles Edwin Cox

    Charles Edwin Cox, 81 of LaFollette passed away June 8. He was born on March 7, 1930. He was a longtime member of the LaFollette Golf and Country Club, an avid UT sports fan and loved Norris Lake. His family was his life, especially his grandchildren.

    Preceded in death by parents, Eugene Rollie and Ethel Smith Cox; substitute parents, Carl and Iona Higdon, and brother C.B. Higdon

    Billy Hatmaker

    Billy Hatmaker, 80, known to many of his friends as “Poor Boy”, passed away June 3, at St. Mary’s of Campbell County.  He made his home in Caryville.   Billy was a very loving husband of 29 years, loving father, and brother that enjoyed being around people and made a friend of everyone he met. Billy is survived by a host of friends and family and will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.

    Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Grace Hatmaker; son, Billy Joe Hatmaker Jr.; sister, Louise Chapman.

    Paul Wesley Hill

    Paul Wesley Hill, 83 of the Boston Community in Whitley County, Ky passed away May 30 at the Beech Tree Manor Nursing Home in Jellico. He was a member of the Boston Missionary Baptist Church and ordained deacon for many years.

    Preceded in death by mother and father, Susan and Dalton Hill; sister, Irene Buchanan and husband, Ed Buchanan; brother, P.L. Hill.
