    Alvin Webb Jr.

    Alvin Webb Jr., 84 of Jellico passed away May 18 at Jellico Community Hospital.  He was born May 23, 1926 in Newcomb.  Alvin served in World War II and was combat wounded in 1944.

    Preceded in death by father, Alvin Webb, Sr.; mother, Ida Shell Webb.

    Alvin is survived by son, Alvin Webb, III; daughters, Rebecca, Shirley and Gennie; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; girlfriend, Francis; a host of friends and family to mourn his passing.

    William Charles Powell, 58, passed away May 20.  He was born September 30, 1952 in LaFollette.

    Preceded in death by his father, William H. Powell; son, Preston Powell.

    Josephine Siler

    Josephine Siler, 94, of Jellico, passed away May 9 at Beech Tree Manor Nursing Home.She was born Jan. 13, 1917 at LaFollette and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jellico.  She retired from South Central Bell after 30 years and was an avid seamstress.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Weir and Ella Newport Willoughby; husband, Cecil Siler; several brothers and sisters.

    Jennifer Marie Richardson

    Jennifer Marie Richardson, 32, of Williamsburg, Ky, died May 20.

    Jennifer is survived by parents, Johnny and Reva Richardson of Williamsburg, Ky.

    Funeral services were held May 23 in the Cox and Son Chapel with Rev. Billy Carpenter officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery.

    Cox and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Charlene Watkins Williams

    Charlene Watkins Williams, 85 of Gordonsville, died May 20.

    Preceded in death by parents, Mabel Shelby and Arthur Watkins; husband, Edward Arnold “Red” Williams.

    Charlene is survived by daughter, Linda K. Williams-Abernathy of Gordonsville.

    Graveside services and interment were held May 23 at Bakers Forge Cemetery. Bass Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Jack Jarrell

    Jack Jarrell, 80 of LaFollette, formerly of Mingo and Wayne County, WV passed away May 15 in St. Mary's Hospital, LaFollette.  He was born October 13, 1931 in Rameytown, WV.  Jack was a disabled coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America for 30 years. He was a faithful member of the Kermit Masonic Lodge #167 F. & A.M. for 50 years, a member of the Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of West Virginia and of the Baptist Faith.

    Carlock Myers, 82 of LaFollette passed away May 19 at his home.  He was a member of LaFollette United Methodist Church, a well known business man, real estate developer, and petroleum business operator. 

    Preceded in death by parents, Orlando and Octavia Allen Myers; brother, Bruce Myers; sisters, Gladys Craig and Marie Thomas; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Myers; brother-in-law, Tilmon Parrott.

    Evelyn Kitchen McCreary

    Evelyn Kitchen McCreary, 91, of Jacksboro passed away May 16 at Mercy Medical – St. Mary’s Knoxville.  Retired after 38 years from Imperial Reading, a last charter member of East LaFollette Baptist Church, but attended East Jacksboro Baptist Church.

    Preceded in death by parents, John and Vida Goins Kitchen; husband, Robert Jefferson McCreary; sons, Buddy, Bill, and infant Kenneth McCreary; four sisters and one brother; grandchildren, David McCreary and John Robert Ayers

    Arvil Ray Perkins

    Arvil Ray Perkins, 73 of LaFollette passed away May 15. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and Nascar racing. He was the owner of Big A’s Pawn and Gun. He loved his family and his dog Tori very much.

    Preceded in death by father, Andy Perkins; mother, Hazel King; ex-wife, Wilma Perkins; brother, Virgil Perkins; sisters, Janice Cooper and Norma Daugherty, and grandchild, Guthrie Perkins.
