    Christopher Lynn Wright, 36, of LaFollette passed away March 25 at Mercy Medical Center – St. Mary’s. He was of Church of God faith. Preceded in death by father, Sherman Lynn Wright.

    Christopher is survived by daughter, Shayla Wright of Caryville; step-daughter, Jasmine Wright of Caryville; mother, Darlene Wright; grandmother, Oma Walden of LaFollette; brother, Cody Malicoat of LaFollette; several aunts, uncles, cousins and host of friends.

    Mercedes Angela Ward, 102, of Caryville, died March 27.

    Preceded in death by husband, Alexander Ward.

    Mercedes is survived by son, Frederick Ward of Seattle, Wa; daughter, Judith Ward

    Richardson of Caryville.

    Funeral services were held March 29 in the Martin Wilson chapel with Rev. Bill Floyd officiating. Interment was in the Turley Cemetery.

    Carl Winston Baird

    Carl Winston Baird, 85, of Pioneer, passed away March 25 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a very loving father and grandfather that enjoyed farming, coal mining and spending time with his family and friends. Carl was in the Army serving his country during World War II and also served Campbell County as county commissioner for over 30 years.

    Preceded in death by father, D.W. Baird; mother, Laura Johnson Baird; wife, Bessie Baird; brother, William Baird; sister, Sally Baird Bolton.

    Larry Jones, 57 of Clinton died March 15.

    Preceded in death by father, J.W. Jones; twin daughters, Stephanie Lynn and Melissa Jean Jones.

    Larry is survived by mother, Emma Jean Jones of Clinton; wife, Pat Jones of Clinton; son, Jason Jones of Karns.

    Funeral services were held March 16 in the Jones Mortuary chapel with Rev. Franklin Henegar officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

    John E. Jones

    John E. Jones, 71, beloved husband and father, a resident of Ray, Mi passed away March 25 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. He was born December 3, 1939 in Saxton, Ky, the son of Martin Ted and Ollie Jane(Bolton) Jones. On April 25, 1959 he married Alice Faye (Lawson) Jones in Jellico. John retired in 1995 from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service.

    Preceded in death by brother M.T. Jones.
