    Grover Sanders

    Grover Sanders, 84, of Eastpointe, Mi died Feb. 2.

    Preceded in death by parents, Henry M. and Almeda Foust Sanders; wife, Pauline Shelton Sanders.

    Grover is survived by son, Larry Sanders of Eastpointe, Mi.

    Funeral services will be held Feb. 5 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. before funeral services.

    Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Rev. Wilbert Jones

    Rev. Wilbert Jones, 82, of Powell, formerly of Caryville died Feb. 2.

    Preceded in death by first wife, Evelyn Jones; parents, Elmer and Monnie Phillips Jones.

    Wilbert is survived by wife, Lou Rosa Jones; daughters, Darlene Wright of Caryville, Sharon Simmons of Caryville, Donna Sharpe of Knoxville, Rhonda DuCheney, Cincinnati, Oh, Lisa Kilbourne of Halls, Linda Leach of Tellico Plains and Pearl Phillips of Caryville.

    Christy Ross Elliott, 92 of Clinton, formerly of Lake City, died Feb. 1.

    Preceded in death by parents, Ross E. Elliott and Myrtle Sexton Elliott. 

    Christy is survived by wife, Juanita Leach Elliott; daughter, Pat Shrull of Lake City; son, Chris Elliott of Lake City.

    Funeral and Masonic services were held Feb. 3 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Norton officiating. Interment was in the Leach Cemetery.

    Loretta Johnson

    Loretta Johnson, 77, of LaFollette passed away Feb. 2 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County.   She was of Baptist faith. 

    Preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Ruby Gray Johnson; sisters, Pamela Payne, Nola Charles; brothers, Charles Gray, Noah Johnson, James Johnson

    Loretta is survived by brothers, Willis Johnson of LaFollette, Clifford Johnson, Jr. of Cincinnati, Oh, Donald Johnson of North Carolina; sisters, Iva Wagner of Cincinnati, Oh and Jean Babb of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews.

    Carl Edward (Muncie) Hawkins, 89, of the Beech Grove Community in Lake City, died Feb. 1.

    Preceded in death by parents, Jess and Lillian Galbreath Hawkins; first wife, Alma Jean Wilson Hawkins,  second wife, Vivian Gross Hawkins; son, Kenny Lee Hawkins; daughter, Linda Hawkins.

    Preceded in death by parents, Isiam and Jensie Lee Lawson.

    Funeral services were held Feb. 3 in the Cox and Son Chapel. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery.

    Donald Daugherty, 67 of Jacksboro died Feb. 2.

    Preceded in death by parents, Roscoe and Glenna Lindsay Daugherty.

    Donald is survived by wife, Nadine Daugherty; sons, Ricky and Randy Daugherty, all of Jacksboro.

    Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. on Feb. 4 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson and Rev. Sampson Ridenour officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. in the Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. before funeral services.

    Ada Mae Woods, 84 of LaFollette died Jan. 30.

    Preceded in death by husband, James Henry Woods; daughters, Toni Gail Rucker and Florence Jean Rucker; parents, Birt and Ethel Florence Bailey Longmire.

    Ada is survived by son, Robbie Woods of LaFollette; daughters, Judy Madison and Sherry Parton, all of LaFollette.

    Hazel “Nannie” Gertrude White

    Hazel “Nannie” Gertrude White, 85 of Lafollette passed away Jan. 27 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Hazel enjoyed raising her family, cooking, family reunions, outdoors, and talking about the Lord. She also loved her family very much.

    Ned Smith Tramell, 65 of Jellico passed away Jan. 24 at the Jellico Community Hospital.

    Preceded in death by mother and father, Bernice and John Tramell Sr.; twin brother, John S. Tramell, Jr.

    Ned is survived by niece, Barbara Coffey and husband, Roger of Corbin, Ky; great nieces and nephew, Tabitha, Natasha and Dylan Coffey; great great niece, Briana Coffey; several cousins and a host of friends to mourn his passing.
