    Vagel Lambdin Tippitt Haase

    Vagel Lambdin Tippitt Haase, 96, born October 26, 1914 in Jackson, KY to William W. Lambdin and Grace Marlow Lambdin, died on Jan. 1 after an extended illness in Knoxville. Her long life included being a beautician in Jellico for over 25 years. She and her husband, Joe Haase, then built an art gallery business on Cumberland Falls Road, near Corbin, KY where she designed and created ceramics and china painting.

    Preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Davenport; son, Jerry Davenport; father and mother, Rev. Lewis Baird and Mary Reynolds Baird; sisters, Irene Baird and Betty Fox; brothers, Edd, Andrew, L.D., Michael, John and Chester.

    Baby James David Pennington, age two months old of LaFollette, passed away Dec. 11 at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville after a long battle with HLHS. James was born on September 13, 2010.

    Della Coriena Barber Rutherford, 76, of the Beech Grove Community in Lake City, died Jan. 1. 

    Preceded in death by parents, Mitchell and Della Vitatoe Barber.

    Della is survived by sons, Robert Lynn Rutherford of Ohio, Jeffrey Lee Rutherford of Lake City; daughters, Judy Ann Weaver of Clinton, Marsha Jane Foster of Lake City, Diane Rice of Lake City, Patricia Faye Seiber of Lake City.

    Marilyn Joyce Kennedy, 60 of Clairfield died Jan. 2.

    Preceded in death by parents: Elmer and Gracie Welden.  

    Marilyn is survived by husband, Lenzy Kennedy of LaFollette; daughters, Michelle Hoover of LaFollette, Bobbi Gibson of Clairfield, Hope Thornton of LaFollette.

    Funeral services were held Jan. 4 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Welden and Rev. Michael Waldrop officiating. Interment was in the Peabody Cemetery.

    Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    J.C. Sharp, 80, of LaFollette died Dec. 30 at St. Mary’s Campbell County.  Member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.

    Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William and Effie Mae Robbins who raised him; parents, Hinton Sharp and Mossie Robbins; brothers, Shirley and Dennis Sharp.

    Philip G. Davis, 62, of LaFollette died Dec. 29 suddenly at his home.  Member of LaFollette First Baptist Church.  He was a 43 year employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center.

    Preceded in death by fiancé, Rita Cummins.

    Phillip is survived by foster child, Ashley and husband, Wade Baird of LaFollette; several cousins and other family members.

    Funeral services were held Dec. 30 in the Cross-Smith Chapel with Rev. Mike Franklin and Rev. Carl Martin officiating.

    Funeral services were held Jan. 3 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
