     James Harold Elliott

    James Harold Elliott,86 of Lake City, died July 28 at Summit View of Lake City.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Wade and Ethel Newport Elliott.

    James is survived by his wife, Kate Elliot, Lake City, son, Ricky Elliott

    Funeral services were held July 31.

    Interment followed at Leach Cemetery in Lake City.

    Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

     Helen F. Dowell

    Helen F. Dowell, 85 of Homosassa, Fla, died July 21. 

    She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Lincoln and Carrie Belle Vinsant Jones; her husband Charles G. Dowell; son, Delford L. Dowell.

    Helen is survived by daughter Judy F. Stevens, Fla.

    Funeral services are Aug. 5 at the George C. Martin Funeral Hoome, Northridge Chapel. The family will receive friends Friday two hours prior the service.

    Bill Dial, 80, of LaFollette died, July 27 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. 

    He was a retired postal carrier, veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of American Legion and National Rural Letter Carriers Union. 

    Preceded in death by parents, William Harrison Dial and Maggie Turner Dial.

    Arick is survived by his wife Angi Chapman, Andersonville, children, Brooke Chapman and Blake Chapman Andersonville, parents Bobby and wife Kathy Chapman Jacksboro.

    Funeral services were heldJuly 22 .

    Interment was at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.

    Estelle Jean Baird Morgan

    Estelle Jean Baird Morgan, 75, passed away at home on July 22. She enjoyed quilting, puzzle books and watching the Atlanta Braves.

    Preceded in death by husband, Charles Morgan; father and mother, Sam and Samantha Smiddy Baird; brothers, Leon, Johnny and R.L.  Baird; sisters, Barbara Baird Richardson, Eldora Baird and Evelyn Baird Campbell; mother in law, Elizabeth Tye.

    Geneva Shoun

    Geneva Shoun, 78 of Jacksboro went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Curtis Shoun July 22at St. Mary’s of Campbell County. Geneva was a founding member of the Fundamental Baptist Church, she also enjoyed fishing, cooking, praying for the lost and her family was her life.

    Preceded in death by husband, Curtis Shoun; parents, James and Martha Mckamey Phillips; brothers, Willmer, Elmer, Kilmer, Carlos and Earnest Phillips; sisters, Kilsie Henderson and Carrie Gross.

    Vivian Vinsant Stephens, 98, of Chattanooga, passed away July 22.  She was formerly from Jacksboro and had lived in Chattanooga for 20 years.  She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University and taught in Campbell County schools for 36 years.

    Preceded in death by husbands, Floyd Vinsant and Esco Stephens.

    Virgie Louise Blankenship, 76 of Jellico, died July 22 .

    Preceded in death by husband, Newman Blankenship; son, George Dana Heatwole.

    Virgie is survived by sons, Floyd Blankenship of Jellico, Lloyd Tracy Heatwole of Newcomb, Jimmy Trammell of Jellico.

    Funeral services were held July 24 in the Harp Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Bowman, Rev. Virgil Ball and Rev. Chuck Evans officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery.

    Virgle Ray Cox, 73 of Clairfield died July 25. 

    Preceded in death by father, Carl Edward Cox; mother, Daphney Huddleston Cox.

    Virgle is survived by wife, Georgia York Cox of Clairfield; sons, Benny Franklin Cox of Mt. Vernon Ky and Randall Ray Cox of Clairfield.

    Funeral services were held July 27 at the Way of the Holiness Church with Rev. Orville Petrey officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on July 28 in the Green Hills Memorial Garden.

    Dovie is survived by sons, Homer Ward of Caryville, Fred Ward of Caryville, Hobart Ward of Caryville; daughters, Anna Lou McKamey of Caryville, Katty Hale of Jacksboro.

    Funeral services were held July 21 at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Interment was in the Bullock Cemetery.
