State Senator Ken Yager paid a visit to the Campbell County Museum on Tuesday. He said he wasnted to learn more about the history of the area he represents in the state senate.

“I’m excited that he came,” said Museum Curator Jerry Sharp. He said he feels that history is important to the county and Sharp was glad to see Yager acknowledge that with his presence.

Yager agreed about the importance of history to the community and said he felt it was key to building a better future.

Several concerned citizens attended the Monday night Caryville Mayor and Aldermen meeting in order to voice their concerns. The group was worried about night activities at Asbury Park.

Resident Tim Mefford was the first to address the board about the various problems being faced by himself and his neighbors.

“During the day, Asbury Park is just one of the best things Caryville’s got, but after dark it turns into a different place,” Mefford said.

Crystal Michelle King, 26, of Butter and Egg Road, Caryville, was arrested on public intoxication and drug charges on July 10. Jacksboro Police Chief Danny Chapman was on patrol when he observed a disturbance at Eagle Bluff Road, according to the police report. Upon investigating the incident, Chapman learned that King, who is eight months pregnant, had allegedly been assaulted by her boyfriend Kenny Lee Kidwell.
