In an effort to raise funds for local residents suffering from Cancer, the Campbell County Cancer Association is hosting an auction and raffle this Saturday from 9 a.m to 1 p.m at Hazel’s Hair Styles.

Co-organized by Jan Jones, Hazel Burchfield and Clarence Lowe, the event is in its fifth year and plays an important role in aiding those affected by cancer in the area.

Complaints about illegal activity at Indian Mountain State Park in Jellico prompted action by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department last week.

Detective Mike Perkins was patrolling in an unmarked county vehicle when he drove through the state park looking for suspicious activity, said Sheriff Gary Perkins.

Three people sitting in a vehicle parked off the side of the road were allegedly observed holding syringes, according to Mike Perkins.
