    Officers with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department discovered an active meth lab on Monday night.

    Responding to a tip that meth was being made at a Sugar Hollow home officers went there just before 7 p.m.

    Sheriff Robbie Goins and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department will hold a neighborhood watch meeting at the New Freedom Community Church on July 21 at 7 p.m. There will also be a meth and litter presentation at the meeting. For more information call 562-7446.

     

    The Humane Society of Campbell County will hold its monthly meeting at The LaFollette Recreation Center, July 21 at 7 p.m.  The election of officials for the next year will take place following the meeting.

    •Anthony M. Bowman, burglary, theft of property over $1,000, vandalism.

    •Steven D. Austin, promotion meth manufacture.

    •Margaret A. Riggs and Ralph E. Marlow, two counts meth manufacture (Riggs only), initiation of process to manufacture meth (Marlow only).

    •Andy Brad Jones, ten counts obtaining controlled substance by fraud, FTA.

  • Card makes Bassmaster Elite Series

    Brandon Card describes himself as the “poster child of college fishing”.

    Now the poster boy has landed himself a spot in the 2012 Bassmaster Elite Series alongside such pro fishing stars as Kevin VanDam.

    Card, a 2004 graduate of Campbell County High School, qualified for the Elite Series by finishing second in the points standings of the 2011 Bassmaster Southern Opens — a series of three tournaments.
