    Devine deliverance

Last week I wrote about Queen Esther, how she became queen and was placed in a position to save the Jews from being destroyed. King Ahasuerus had promoted Haman (a wicked man) to a powerful position. The people were to bow to him and give reverence to him.

Who is the Holy Spirit? – Part 1

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;…” (See John 14:16ff., KJV).

  • On Higher Ground

Two funerals separated by sixty years

“For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14).  “Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow” (Psalm 144:4).

Death is the great leveler of all individuals.  And nothing demonstrates the impartiality of death quite like war.  Old or young, rich or poor, educated or ignorant, right or wrong—death has a way of overlooking all such distinctions.

  • From a Mother's Heart

Jesus Christ and The Bible releases spiritual power

You may ask why Christians put so much emphasis on the Bible. The main reason is this: The way you treat your Bible is the way you treat Jesus Christ. He is the living Word and the Bible is the written Word, and they agree in their character and ministry. The accompanying charts help demonstrate this concept.

  • What will happen next in the Bartley case?

With Judge Jon K. Blackwood setting aside Kenneth S. Bartley’s 2007 plea a number of legal avenues have been reopened.

Now as the nearly 20-year- old sits at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, his future is uncertain. Before last week Bartley was certain to spend his days behind a locked door until February 2033, if he made parole then. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been eligible for release until February 2049.
