CCHS Agriculture students to receive certificate of merit

Students in Campbell County High School (CCHS) Agriculture classes have been taught the importance of agriculture and conservation and have reflected those teachings onto those around them.

As a result, Tennessee Senator Bob Corker has recognized the CCHS Agriculture students and their efforts.

Corker’s representative David Leaberton will be at CCHS March 17 at 10.a.m., to award the agriculture students with a certificate of merit recognizing their efforts to educate others in agriculture and conservation.

Meth lab dumpsite found in Caryville

Though the number of active meth labs in Caryville is down from last month, the problem is not gone.

A meth lab dumpsite was found on the side of Bruce’s Gap Road on Feb. 18.

Caryville Detective Stephanie Smith was dispatched to the fire department in reference to the possible dumpsite.

Q-County makes improvements to better the area

Cindi and Jeff Alpert can be seen around Campbell County taking part in the South Campbell County Rotary, Relay for Life and even singing the national anthem at Cougars basketball games.
However, the couple considers the WTNQ radio station their greatest connection with the community.

The Alperts purchased the FM station last May. They have been working to make the station better since the purchase and shared some of their accomplishments thus far.

After two nights, Shoupes taken into custody on multiple charges

Multiple alleged crimes in the Pinecrest area led to the arrest of Terry Lee Shoupes, 32, of Jacksboro on Monday.

Shoupes had allegedly gone door-to-door in the Glade Springs and Pinecrest areas terrorizing residents, according to Campbell County Sheriff’s deputy Dustin Hatfield.
