A call to 911 may have saved the life of a Newcomb woman when two men forced their way into her home and assaulted her.
Around 4 a.m. on Monday, sheriff’s deputy Jeff Ivey was dispatched to a Newcomb residence in response to an aggravated burglary and assault, according to Campbell County Sheriff Gary Perkins.
Two men pounded on the windows and doors of the victim’s residence and looked in windows, according to the victim’s statement. The victim was alarmed and contacted 911 for help, said Ivey.
