    God will provide our weapons

We have a great grandson who will be two years old soon. What a delight he is to all of the family members. Of course we are all at his beck and call when he is around. He has been in no hurry to talk because we all know what he wants or does not want by his actions and mannerisms. Lately we have found out he has many words stored up he just hasn’t chose to use them. He is a man of few words.

After years of visiting and revisiting the notion of adding additional space to the county's current 96 bed jail facility it seems as if the stars may just be aligning for the project to get underway.

David Keith is a man of many roles- actor, director, singer, even composer. Ironically, with around 100 film/television credits to his name, Keith has found the role of a lifetime-child advocate. On April 29, Keith was the keynote speaker at the Campbell County Children’s Center’s Second Annual Child Abuse Awareness Luncheon, held at the LaFollette Church of God.

  • Relay for Life scheduled for Friday night

Walkers are likely lacing up their walking shoes in anticipation of this year's Relay for Life event.

On Friday evening the community will unite with the common goal of remembering those who have succumbed to cancer, honoring those that have survived and raising money to battle the disease that has affected the majority in one way or another.

According to Cindy Russell, who has worked to organize this year's festivities, approximately 24 teams have been feverishly collecting cash in an effort to meet the county's goal of $50,000.
