
The regular meeting of the Caryville
Municipal Planning Commission will be held at 6 p.m. on
March 1 in the Caryville City Hall. The public is invited

The Class of 1967 will meet on March 1 at 6:30 at Kyoto’s
for finalizing the plans for the reunion to be held on July

The Campbell County Commission has announced its March schedule
of meetings. The commission will meet March 1 at 6 p.m.
to resume the recessed Feb. meeting. The Campbell County
Planning Commission will meet March 5 at 6 p.m. The FMS
Committee will meet at 6 p.m. on March 8. The Budget and
Finance Committee will meet on March 12 at 5:30 p.m. with
a commission workshop following at 6 p.m. The hearing regarding
the commission’s violation of Tennessee’s Sunshine
Law will begin March 19. A time for these proceedings has
not yet been announced. The commission will also meet in
regular session on March 19 at 6 p.m. following a 5:30 beer
board meeting.
REACHS Clothes Closet will be open on March 2 and 16 from
10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Donations of household items and men’s
clothing are needed.
The Campbell County Youth Horse Program will hold the annual
spring session sign-ups at the LaFollette Recreation Center
from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on March 3, the cost is $25 per

Boys and Girls Clubs of Campbell County will be hosting
an open invitation day. Any person wanting to volunteer
with the Boys and Girls Clubs can come by the LaFollette
Recreation Center on March 3 beginning at 10 a.m. - 3p.m.
They will be accepting applications and answering any questions.
Background checks, as well as finger prints, will be conducted
at a later date, once applications have been approved. The
Senior Citizen Center of LaFollette will have a council
meeting on March 5 at 10 a.m.
The Cove Lake Hiking Club will meet March 5 at 6 p.m. at

Senior Citizens Center of LaFollette on March 6 at 7 p.m.
Joyful Aires gospel group will also perform.
The Campbell County Artist Association will have its regular
monthly meeting on Thursday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the
La Follette Recreation Center. Susan Thorton will be our
hostess and provide refreshments. Featured guest will be
Be Be DeBord, Assistant Professor of Art, Lincoln Memorial
University. Ms. DeBord will be giving a lecture and demonstration
on Oil Painting and artistic techniques. She holds a BA
from Randolph Macon Women’s College and a MA from

The Campbell County Library Board will meet at 6 p.m. on
March 8 at Perkins Restaurant.
The Clinch River Trout Unlimited March 8th meeting will
feature chapter members Steve Brown and Scott Baker demonstrating
how to tie several fly patterns including furled leader,
streamer patterns, and techniques for winding weighting
wire and making it a neat composition, among several other
tips on fly tying. Flies will also be displayed.

Boys and Girls Club of Campbell County Board of Directors
meeting will be held March 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the LaFollette
Recreation Center.
Larry Sparks and the Lonesome Ramblers will perform in the
Old Claiborne County High School auditorium in Tazewell
on March 10. Roscoe Morgan and the Lonely Train will open

The Cove Lake Hiking Club will meet at Bruce Gap parking

The East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (ETHRA) will be
distributing commodities on March 14 at the Jellico Library
Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on March 17 at Woodson’s
Mall from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Campbell County Recycling Center will be conducting
a residential hazardous waste day on March 17 from 8 a.m.
to 12 p.m. Chemicals, paint antifreeze and other old products

The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce will present the
3rd Annual "Let's Do Business" Expo and Career
Fair 2007 March 22. The event will be held at the Clinton
Community Center, 101 S. Hicks Street, from 10 a.m. to 6
p.m. and will showcase a wide variety of area businesses.
Adults and students are encouraged to attend. The event
is free and open to the public. All businesses are invited
to exhibit and take advantage of early registration by March12.
Exhibit space (10’x10’ for $150 or 8’x8’
for $125) will be available on a first come, first serve
basis. Non-chamber members will be charged an additional
$50 registration fee. All exhibitors registering after March
12 will be assessed a $50 late fee. The Courier News and
WYSH 1380 a.m. radio are sponsors. Lunch will be provided

Campbell County Shrine Club will host a spaghetti supper,
cake walk and auction at Campbell County High School on

Pine Mountain Long Beards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey
Federation will host the annual hunting heritage banquet

Due to a recent surge in donated books the LaFollette Public
Library will no longer be accepting book donations with
the exception of books being given in honor or memory of
someone.
Carol Hoskins Accounting has volunteered her staff to do
free tax refunds for needy Senior Citizens Members. Appointments
are available on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. through
