 I read the LaFollette Press! 

Several weeks ago I was standing at a checkout at a busy convenience store along our four-lane in town. I glanced to my right and sitting on the newspaper rack, I noticed the store had started to carry an international or fancy national paper.

Much to my surprise, upon closer inspection, I found that the paper was our local LaFollette Press. The look and lay out were attractive and well presented. 

I bought a copy and read it cover to cover. 

 To the editor: 

We want to thank everyone that was watching the David Russell Heart Transplant Telethon on March 9, on WLAF Channel 12 and those who called in your pledges. We couldn’t have had a successful telethon without you all. We will use the money to pay for things that insurance doesn’t. We want to thank WLAF Channel 12 for the use of your facilities and to Josh and Jason. 

 To the editor: 

My daughter is one of the volunteer leaders who was mentioned in the article about the women’s jail ministry. Therefore, I have had the opportunity to visit this jail ministry first hand. By the grace of God, I have never had to face what a lot of these women are facing. Rightly so, they are paying for crimes they have committed, however, they are more than inmates serving time. Above all else they are children of God just like you and I.

I am writing in response to recent allegations against the Campbell County animal shelter Director Betty Crumley.  Many accusations have been made against Mrs. Crumley and many people have behaved badly and in a manner not befitting those of us that simply want to learn the truth.
