On Oct. 9 we will be having our third annual Fall Dog Show. Our theme will be Halloween. We are encouraging people to dress up themselves and their pets up for our best dressed class.

We are having two special classes for people who have adopted dogs from our shelter, Best Trick and Best Dressed.

We will be having hot dogs and burgers with all the trimmings.

  • Letter to the Editor Sept. 23

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

I have been looking for work for the last two months. I filled out some applications, most applications have to be filled out online. I even drove to Knoxville many times as well. One day on the hottest days of the year, on my way home from searching for work in Knoxville, I had a flat tire.

  • Letter to the Editor Sept. 23

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

We have been taking in abandoned dogs for over a year now. Adoption count is 50 plus. My husband and I use our social security and retirement income to feed and vet all the dogs in our care. That comes to a lot of money.

Our urgent need at this time is to enclose a 20x20 metal carport so they have a clean and dry place to be in. The kennels would then be put together and an exercise area made.

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

My name is Betty Leach, I was born at LaFollette Hospital, grew up and lived in this county all of my life.

I have recently had the unfortunate experience of becoming involved with an area social services agency and I have to say there are no words to describe it. I have worked with the public in the medical community for over 25 years, paid my fair share of taxes, and hopefully I have helped a few people along the way.
