     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

As I listen to reports of the elimination of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan, it occurs to me that the brilliantly planned and executed mission to do so was carried out by a joint military force operation and the CIA, in which we take great pride. Campbell County should also take pride in the one who was the principal architect of these joint Special Forces, General Carl W. Stiner. We thank you, General Stiner.

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

The Friends of Norris Dam State Park want to publicly recognize and thank the Campbell County Commissioners who voted on April 18 to not support the proposed Lighthouse Lodge and Convention Center.

It is very reassuring to know we still have elected officials who will listen to the will of the people and act accordingly.

Hey coupon clippers we are being clipped ourselves.

Not many coupon clippers know you can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon at the same time.

They tell you your not supposed to, but if they’re honest you can.

  • Citizen supports efforts

    Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

Hello, My name is Fatima Marie Atabey. I am writing you today on behalf of two courageous young men that have started a program called HateMeth.com.
They have a need for funding in a rural community. It requires ten arces of land to build an amusement park and an educational activity center. It is for the prevention and clean up of Crystal Meth here in Campbell and Claiborne Counties and Tennessee. I now live in what is commonly referred to as the Meth Capital of the United States, LaFollette.

  • Shriners thank

    Editor,

The Campbell County Shrine Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who donated items for our auction and spaghetti dinner March 25 at the Campbell County High School. We want to thank all the local merchants that donated over 70 items for the auction.

  • Letters to the Editor March 24, 2011

    Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

I recently had car trouble and went to a local car dealership to have my car scanned. I paid $79 plus tax to have my car scanned for an hour and was then told that I needed two small parts and the throttle body cleaned.

Their estimate to do this work was $657. They also attempted to add an additional “miscellaneous charge” for the scan, but I avoided having to pay this. I suppose this was the “female walking into a car dealership by herself” charge.
