  • Jesus is the reason for the season

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

I would like to express how grateful and what it meant to me to see in The LaFollette Press that Jesus is the reason for the season. The poem, Twas the Night before Jesus, is so true and a blessing. Most stores you go in cannot say Merry Christmas. I’m so glad for boldness of people who will stand up and tell others, Christ is Christmas. So thank you again for wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

    Happy Birthday Jesus.

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

This letter is to say thanks to all of the folks in the community that partook of the South Campbell County Rotary Club’s annual pancake breakfast on Friday, Nov. 5. The proceeds from the breakfast will go to Rotary International and will be used to help eradicate Polio all over the world. Our club is proud of our community and the fact that so many of you show your concern for the human condition in so many ways, including support of your local Rotary Club.

    Sincerely,

    Jeff Alpert,

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

The LA Cruizers ninth annual car show at Campbell County High School was a huge success with many out of town visitors.

We had 166 entries this year, plus around 40 cars from the LA Cruizers. This year’s show was in memory of Barney Ray Jr., one of the founding members of the LA Cruizers, who passed away three weeks prior to our show. He was a valued and active member who brought joy and laughter to every event.

We have lived in Caryville all of our lives. We are proud to say we live here and love all the people. When you come south on I-75 and top Teinnold hill and see the mountains, Cove Love Park and Caryville you can say it is the garden spot of the world.

    Editor,

In reference to our current political campaigns, an incumbent seeking re-election should be able to stand on his record, his personal integrity and moral standards. It should not be necessary for him to expose and distort a personal crisis in his opponent’s life to get votes.
    Respectfully,
