   Appalachian Dawn will never be a blockbuster hit or bring home an Oscar.

However, what this documentary can and will do is serve as an inspiration to communities losing themselves to addictions.

I first heard of this documentary a few months ago when Annie Margaret Caldwell mentioned it to me. She was singing the praises of not only the documentary but the people of Clay County, Ky.

 There are certain things that happen every year that let us know the year is moving along. One of the biggest signs for me that summer is pretty much over, has always been going back to school. This week Campbell County schools opened their doors and students started class. This year, the start of school feels strange to me because for the first time in my life I will not be going back.
