We are answerable for our decisions

Are some things as confusing to you as they are to me? I am referring to a commercial I saw, especially over the holidays. There was no way I could bring the two thoughts together and make any sense out of them. It was a false misleading message. The commercial was advertising a non intoxicating beverage.

  • Faithful Words

Why and how do we choose a church?

“And Jesus said unto them, ‘Come after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men’” (See Mark 1:9-20 , RSV).

  • On Higher Ground

Opportunities to share the faith come at unexpected times

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15).

Scripture exhorts us to be ready anytime to speak our faith with others because we cannot always see the Divine appointments the Lord arranges for us.

    The Power of Encouragement

The writer of Hebrews said, “Encourage one another daily” (3:13, NIV). The apostle Paul said, “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4, NIV. The word encourage means “to inspire with hope or confidence.” We should all find ways to exercise the power of encouragement.

  • How easy is it to veer off course?

How do seemingly good people cross the line into criminal behavior?  That question crossed my mind on Monday as I sat in criminal court.

Watching as one by one the defendants made their way to the bench, they appeared to be the standard batch of offenders with the exception of two- former LaFollette Police Officer Tony Rucker and former director of schools Dr. Michael Martin.

     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

I live in LaFollette, I am so pleased of how wonderful is the library service in my town and I would like to share with you my experience.

Due to my training as a physician I have lived in different states and I make sure I always have a library card. From my first day at LaFollette library I was deeply impressed of the outstanding service Nancy Green provides to every person who comes to the library.
