     Editor,

    LaFollette Press:

The LA Cruizers ninth annual car show at Campbell County High School was a huge success with many out of town visitors.

We had 166 entries this year, plus around 40 cars from the LA Cruizers. This year’s show was in memory of Barney Ray Jr., one of the founding members of the LA Cruizers, who passed away three weeks prior to our show. He was a valued and active member who brought joy and laughter to every event.

  • Rallying for Benchmarks

Elk Valley students cranked it up with an academic pep rally before taking their first Benchmark test of the year. • County Talk

It has been a very busy time for the County Mayor’s Office. In addition to the additional county commission meetings that were held to review and approve the county budget, several new employees were sworn in for the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever” (Deuteronomy 29:29).

Halloween is nearly here. I never have liked the emphasis of this holiday on the evil and the demonic, and I hope that parents will encourage their children not to dwell on those elements.

Continue on lethargy or pray for zeal

Are we seeing lethargy moving over our land; a lack of interest or concern about some very important things? Are we lazy or indifferent, almost like being in a coma, slumbering and sleeping concerning some very critical events?
