  • “ Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10).

It was hardly a pleasant topic for dinnertime conversation—worms. Parasites, actually. But my daughter’s explanation was so fascinating that I didn’t give the setting a second thought as I listened to her tale and downed my linguini.

  •   Recently when I was praying concerning a heartfelt matter I began to remember some wonderful comforting Scriptures.

First I want to remind you that our enemy has no intention of leaving us alone, especially if he thinks there is a notable weakness in our life. I have always felt like Satan could not read our mind- but he can plant seeds in our mind, if we don’t rebuke them. He can read out actions, also, many times we profess doubt by the very words that come out of our mouths.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:19-21).

  •  “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night” (See Psalm 1, RSV).

  •    The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want (Psalm 23:1).

In my younger years I questioned this verse of scripture, “I shall not want.” I wondered, why am I not to want the Lord as my shepherd? As I became more mature and gained more understanding of the scriptures I realized that God would not allow my need to go unmet.

  •    Did you ever think about what could be the most important thing you could think about? Sounds like a riddle, but it isn’t. It is you and I asking the question, “how will it be for me when I face judgment?”

It is something we will all face someday.
