    AWalk Through Bethlehem, at the Lake City Football Field in Lake City will be held Dec. 2, 3 and 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night.  Admission is free, but donations will gladly be accepted to support the Jim Ed Lawson Basket Fund which assists less fortunate families in the area. This ministry will proceed regardless of the weather.

     

  •  Easy Cornbread Stuffing.

    Bake a pan of cornbread a couple of days before use.

    1 package of Pepperidge Farms Herb seasoned stuffing

    1-3 cans chicken broth (enough that the stuffing is still moist after it has soaked in)

    1-2 stalks of celery chopped, however much that you want to use.

    1 chopped onion

    rubbed sage

    butter

    In a sauté pan melt butter and sauté celery and onion until done. Set aside

    The Operation Roundup Board will meet on Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held in the LaFollette Utility Board conference room. 

    The SMCC dietary department with coats for the cold will be distributing items on Nov. 18 from 2 – 6 p.m. on a first come first serve basis.

  • New Life Ministry Center will have a chili supper/cake auction on Nov. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m., carry out is available.

    Willow Brook Baptist Church’s annual “thanks-giving-away” Nov. 20. Clothes, shoes, household  items, toys and miscellaneous items are all available to anyone at no cost.  The event begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.

  • A Beth Moore Ladies Retreat is scheduled for Nov. 5-6 at Galilee Bible Camp.  Beth will be teaching by way of video from the book of Proverbs. Ladies may spend the night at the camp or drive back and forth.  Cost of the retreat is $20 - $35 depending on whether staying at the camp or driving back and forth.   • The East Tennessee Human Resource Agency will take applications for the USDA Commodities at the Campbell County E.T.H.R.A.  beginning Nov. 1 and at the Jellico Library on Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring the following items, valid I.D., current mailing address, current income statements for all members staying in the household, check stubs, SSI/social security benefits, DHS or food stamp print-out, individuals may be asked for their social security numbers.
