  • My children and grandchildren have always been such a big part of my life. We have nine grandchildren ages nine through  30, and one great grandson. The age span gives constant amusement for me and Bob. And I might add as they grew into teenagers our prayer life became more steadfast and more faithful.
When Jacob wanted to reconcile with Esau (remember Jacob stole Esau’s birthright) he was concerned how Esau would receive him. In Genesis chapter 33, we read how Esau received him with gladness.

  • “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near in the blood of Christ.” (See Ephesians 2:11-22).
In Ephesians, Paul addresses the relationship between grace and good works. We are “saved by grace”, but we are also saved for the purpose of doing “good works.” We should not confuse the two. Good works (even religion) are the result of salvation – not the cause. As someone said, “Don’t try to eat crackers and then whistle your way into heaven!”

  • Did you ever do much garden work? Whether a flower garden or a vegetable garden it takes a great amount of work.
It means preparing the soil, getting rid of the weeds, as you work with the soil you make it fallow so you can plant.
It reminds me that we must feed and take care of and give our souls nourishment.

But the word of God makes it clear that hell is just as real as Heaven.
Many believe a loving God would not send anyone to hell. Let me point out two things that you may not have thought of.
