  • The Demory Baptist Church will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary on July 22. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with special singing and special sermons. There will be a covered dish meal at 1 p.m.
    New Life Ministry Center will have kids crusade beginning on July 22 at 10:30 a.m. and July 23 through July 25 at 7 p.m. Food and crafts begins at 6 p.m.
    East LaFollette Baptist Church will be holding vacation Bible school on July 23 through July 27 from 6 p.m. to 8:20 p.m. Family night will be July 29 at 6 p.m.

  • The East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (E.T.H.R.A.) will be distributing USDA Commodities on June 8, at the LaFollette Community Center. Starting time is 8:30 a.m., lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. It will end at 2:30 p.m. or when the food is gone. Bring a box and some one to carry the food. This program is funded in part by the United States Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Department of Human Services. For more information call E.T.H.R.A. at 562-2948.

  • The Abbott Church of Lick Creek will have a benefit yard sale for Rachel Bolton on June 8 starting at 10 a.m. The money will go for a operation on her arm in Missouri.

    The House of Prayer of the Living God is having a benefit singing for Rachel Bolton. The singing will be June 9 at 6 p.m. All proceeds will go to help the family with travel and expenses for her trip to Missouri for her operation.

    Remembering Graduation and Strawberries

    Many memories come to my mind this time of year about graduation and strawberries. To let you know what I am referring to we moved out in the country in April 1973. The next year May 1974 we had a wonderful crop of strawberries. Bob had planted them the previous year.
