When 18-year-old Jellico senior Justin Bowlin broke the state record for assists Friday, it was announced to the home crowd toward the end of the game against Coalfield.

On a night in which Jellico’s Justin Bowlin made history, the Blue Devils cruised to a 75-62 win over the Coalfield Yellow Jackets at Jellico Friday in the boys game.
Though Jellico’s freshman guard Kendra Smith had a hot hand and was knocking down 3-pointers, the Coalfield high school girls basketball team picked up the 68-34 victory.
The Oliver Springs High School girls basketball team was just too much for Jellico Tuesday night, Dec. 16 at Jellico.
Oliver Springs won 61-25.
Wynn had a difficult night against Powell Valley in middle school basketball play at Wynn Habersham Elementary School Thursday, Dec. 18.
The search for the next Jellico High School head football coach is down to seven candidates.
Saturday was a day of county tournament finals at Caryville Elementary, and the first four games of the day spotlighted elementary schools.
