Coming into last week’s District 3-AAA boy’s championship game, few East Tennessee high school basketball teams had more momentum than Campbell County.
The Cougars had won 10 of their previous 12 games, including a pair of blowouts of regular season champ and top-seeded Knoxville Central.
Oak Ridge, which swept Campbell County during the regular season, slipped into Wednesday night’s title game after barely surviving two earlier tournament games against Clinton and Powell.
