Tyler Greene, Campbell County High School’s record holder in the javelin throw, is looking to take his talents to new areas.

The senior track and field participant is traveling to Australia this summer in hopes of making his name in the javelin and 300-meter hurdles.

“That’s a great opportunity for Tyler,” coach Anne Browning said. “To have an opportunity to travel somewhere else and compete against kids from literally all over the world, I think it’ll be a tremendous experience.”

Michael Jordan couldn’t have done it better himself.

The Jacksboro Eagles found themselves down, 27-25, with only 3.7 seconds and a full-court length to go.

MaKenzie Seiber took the ball, finding a path down the far sideline.

From two-feet behind the half-court line, Seiber heaved the ball at the goal, banking it squarely off the backboard and into the hoop.

Pandemonium erupted.

Max Farris found 10 points in last Thursday’s game, all of them coming in the third quarter.

Farris’ rally led the Jacksboro Eagles to a big win on eighth grade night, avenging an earlier loss to the Owls, as they took the cross-town game, 36-27.

Campbell County High School unveiled its new scorer’s table during Tuesday’s games against the Halls Red Devils.

The new table is a newer model than what the school had, complete with padding that covers the front of the table.

“I think that the athletes really appreciate it,” Athletic Director Sherry Chapman said. “Most of the schools are going to the padded tables. We’re just excited to finally get one. Hopefully, it’ll last a long time.”
