TBI: Homicide suspected in 45-year-old’s death

By Joseph P. King II

CHERRY BOTTOM—The body of a deceased male found Monday near a residence on Enix Lane in the Cherry Bottom area of Campbell County has been identified as Kenneth G. Koster, 45, of Knoxville, according to Campbell County Sheriff Chief Deputy Aaron Evans.

The Sheriff’s Office, TBI and District Attorney General Jared Effler are treating the investigation as a homicide, Evans said.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center Forensic Anthropology Center and preliminary results were released Wednesday afternoon by the sheriff’s office.

It is unclear at this point if the body is related to the death of Ronnie Leon Poe, whose remains were discovered last week in the Vasper area about 4 miles away from the one found this week.

The investigations of both incidents remain open as of Wednesday.
