JMS star hurt during loss at Lenoir City

Jacksboro Middle School lost more than a game Thursday night while playing football at Lenoir City.
The Eagles lost star running back Trey Torres, who broke his right arm during the third quarter of a 32-12 defeat. Jacksboro (2-2 district, 4-2 overall) spotted the home team a 12-0 lead.
Lenoir City returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and scored again after the Eagles fumbled on their initial possession.
Paul Courdle and Joseph Elkins scored Jacksboro’s touchdowns. The Eagles will host county rival LaFollette tonight (Thurs.) at 7 p.m. for a key district game.
Blue Devils fall at Coalfield
The Blue Devils fell 48-6 Thursday night at Coalfield.

Little League Football
Shane Bowman completed 19 of 27 passes for 213 yards and rushed for 22 yards and 2 touchdowns on six carries during Campbell County’s 26-12 grasscutter division loss to Lake City. In other little league football action, Campbell County lost the jayvee grasshopper game, 28-0; the grasshopper game, 19-6; and the peewee game, 32-19.
Campbell County’s teams will play at Claxton on Saturday, Oct. 2 before returning home to host a game on Oct. 9.
