An alleged burglar didn’t know he had an audience.

Campbell County Sheriff’s  Deputy Travis Bostic was dispatched to 191 East Industrial Park in regards to a possible burglary and theft. A witness at the scene reportedly advised Bostic that Christopher Anthony Poteet, 22, 212 Middlesboro Rd., LaFollette, parked a gold Mazda near a storage shed and began loading it with equipment.

Poteet allegedly took a conduit, water pipe, jet pump and metal culvert before leaving the scene at a high rate of speed, the reports said.

Later that day, Poteet’s father brought him to the sheriff’s office where he reportedly gave a statement and took deputies to retrieve the stolen equipment.

The property was returned to its owner.

Poteet was arrested and charged with burglary and theft greater than $1,000.

This was his second booking at the Campbell County jail.
