Community Trust Bank’s silent auction ends tomorrow. They have items up for bid ranging from espresso machines to lamps, pillows and cookbooks.

They are also selling a variety of nuts for baking, eating or for giving as gifts. Prices range from $7.50 for deluxe praline pecans to $10.50 for large pecan halves.

All profits are going toward helping sponsor seniors’ Christmas wish lists through ETHRA’s Santa for Seniors program—whose goal is to make Christmas special for local senior citizens.

This is the bank’s third year raising money for the program.

“We were able to help 20 seniors last year. Our goal was 15. So this year our goal is 20,” said Danielle Duncan, New Accounts Customer Service Representative. “This is just a blessing for us every year to be able to do this. So we enjoy it just as much as, I’m sure, the seniors getting the gifts.”

The bank is located at 106 S. Tennessee Ave., in downtown LaFollette. Anyone is welcome to stop by to place a bid, buy some nuts or make a donation.

If you or your business want to help local seniors in need, but are unable to make it to Community Trust Bank by tomorrow, contact Becky Pierce, ETHRA Office on Aging, at 865-705-9675. The deadline to drop off gifts to Pierce’s office at 2301 Jacksboro Pike No. 4B, LaFollette, is Dec. 15.
