UPDATE: Central Avenue in downtown LaFollette appears in fair condition as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Side roads are still covered, but readers report seeing crews treating the roads in various parts of Campbell County. Readers are encouraged to report road conditions in their areas on our Facebook page.

EARLIER: CAMPBELL COUNTY—As much as 7 inches of snow has fallen on Campbell County closing schools, businesses and some government operations. Road crews were observed as early as 4 a.m. this morning plowing downtown streets. While conditions are expected to improve throughout the day, most side roads in rural areas are impassable. Residents are cautioned to avoid travel if possible.

The snow may create some delivery problems with today's print edition of the LaFollette Press.

"Please be patient," said Editor Brent Schanding. "Papers will be delivered as soon as possible. Until then, subscribers may access our website, www.lafollettepress.com, to view our e-Edition."

Those suffering from power loss or other issues should contact the LaFollette Utilities Board at 566-6020.
