LaFOLLETTE—The autopsy preformed Wednesday of the 3-year-old infant who was pronounced dead after being brought into LaFollette’s Tennova Medical Center Tuesday revealed several injuries to the child.

Those injuries were consistent with dated and current injuries, according to the medical examiner.

“Sadly, this is a complex case that has to be done right and put together solidly,” said Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins. “Our investigators have worked non-stop with little rest, as we should expect them to.”

The Sheriff’s Office will continue to work together with multiple agencies as the investigation continues, Goins said.

“There are mounds of work to do in these complex cases,” he added. “We will continue to investigate, gather evidence, interview, work with and meet with professionals until the cases conclusion and resolution. We have and will be restrictive with the information we release to protect the integrity of the investigation.”
