LaFOLLETTE—Our media partner 1450 WLAF is reporting that journalist Charlotte Underwood, was escorted from Gov. Bill Haslam’s Thursday night fundraising event at The Stables.

Underwood was there to cover the Republican governor's kick-off campaign for the radio station. She was reportedly there less than five minutes before organizers demanded to see her press credentials and then escorted her to car.

"WLAF thought that was worthy of covering in order to bring you a 'warm and fuzzy' story this morning," according to a post on WLAF's website about the incident. "But maybe it wasn’t. Guess the next time a political candidate comes to Campbell County to host a high-dollar fundraiser, WLAF had best just stay at the house."

Underwood is also a former LaFollette Press reporter.
